Ahnalya De Leeuw gives an inspiring video presentation in which she discusses the dangers of activist burn-out and her concept for a universal social platform to support, link, and coordinate climate activism from the smallest acts to the most complicated and involved activism. Sidrah Schramm spent every morning of 8th grade protesting for climate protection at city hall. During high school, she focused her climate activism on promoting gardening, composting, and stewardship of the land at her school. Read her winning essay here:

Climate Literacy at the Roots

Andrew Beauchamp argues for the implementation in Oregon of comprehensive climate change education in schools. He explains that college students can work toward making this education mandatory:

“Students and their parents can introduce an initiative to make it standard to have some level of climate literacy curriculum in schools around Oregon. This can also be achieved by students approaching their representative or senator for sponsorship of a bill.”
